Oktoberfest

Detail text

Oktoberfest in Munich
Called "The Wiesn" by the locals, takes place in September, lasts two weeks and ends on the first Sunday in October. The first festival took place in 1910 on the occasion of the wedding of the future Bavarian King Ludwig I. Since then, the festival has been growing from year to year.
1818 the first carousel
1869 the Schichtl, magics and curiosities are presented and visitors are beheaded by guillotine,
1880 a Ferris wheel with 12 meters of wood
1894 the witch swing
1898 the landlord Georg Lang raises five stall places and builds on it his "beer castle", that was the beginning of the big beer tent
1906 a slide, since 1933 with a conveyor belt for the passengers,
1910 Devil's Wheel, who manages to stay on top wins,
1920 Krinoline a round carousel,
1932 Pitt's death wall, motorcyclist on a wooden cylindrical steep wall,
1979 Steel Ferris Wheel with 48 meters
These lovingly maintained attractions are still represented today.
To provide such a big festival with beer and everything else requires sophisticated logistics. Visitors also want to be driven to the festival and then back again. If the festival is optimally served, it will grow into the largest folk festival in the world.
For Oktoberfest, Munich breweries brew a special beer containing up to 6.4 percent alcohol by volume. Some visitors underestimate both the content of the beer glasses and the alcohol content of the beer. Often they then try, with the last strength, to leave the festival through the shortest way. This leads behind the marquees up the slope of a small hill. Some fail at the small incline and stay lying down. Some fall asleep instantly, others vomit. The locals therefore call it the vomiting hill. Unfortunately, this particular attraction is attracting more and more onlookers, so that the police have recently had to look increasingly to the right.

Alcuni si addormentano all'istante, altri vomitano.
