Speeds of up to 160 km/h were required for high-quality express train service. The 210 is largely identical to the 218, but has a gas turbine in addition to the diesel engine. This could be switched on to increase performance. The gas turbine developed for helicopters was not up to start-stop operation. After several damages and a fire, the turbines were removed and the locomotive was converted to the 218.9. The 210 was painted crimson red, but in Simutrans it is beige/red so that it looks better with the TEE and IC wagons.

Für den hochwertigen Schnellzugverkehr wurden Geschwindigkeiten bis 160 km/h gefordert. Die 210 ist weitgehend baugleich zur 218, besitzt jedoch eine Gasturbine zusätzlich zum Dieselmotor. Diese konnte zur Leistungssteigerung zugeschaltet werden. Die für Hubschrauber entwickelte Gasturbine war dem Start-Stop-Betrieb nicht gewachsen. Nach mehreren Schäden und einem Brand wurden die Turbinen aus- und die Lok zur 218.9 umgebaut. Die 210 war purpurrot lackiert, in Simutrans ist sie jedoch beige/rot damit sie optisch besser zu den TEE und IC Wägen passt.

Fehler! Die Baureihe BR210 war purpurrot lackiert und nicht purpurrot/elfenbein?
Nur die BR 218-217-8 hatte eine purpurrot/elfenbein Lackierung!

Dieser "Fehler" ist Absicht, das passt optisch besser zu den beige/rot TEE Wägen. Ja ich weiß die BR 218-217-8 hat nie TEE Züge gezogen, aber es schaut logischer aus und passt von den technischen Daten besser.
